Established in 2011 and located in Wilmington, North Carolina, Freaker USA quickly grew to be the global leader of preventing moist handshakes and sweaty beverages with high quality American-made products. They aren’t just selling you their fit-everything product, they’re giving you an invitation to their party - a starter kit for a new lifestyle. The Freaker isn’t a strike-at-the-wind attempt to get rich, it’s the background music to a never-ending journey. Infusing life, style and functionality into a drink insulator.
The Freaker is a one-size-fits-all beverage insulator! What do the fancy words mean? Freakers keep your drinks cold, your hands dry, and they’ll fit anything you want to drink out of.
What's that? You have a baby but you also enjoy bum-wine? Is the FREAKER for you? A match made in heaven, gumdrop. Your little one’s sippy cup can be just as freaked as your 40oz Colt. Also your mom’s wine and your kid sister’s Nalgene and your dad’s beer & the vase you sometimes regretably send flowers to your ex in.
Freaker USA all started with a Kickstarter campaign in 2011, which raised $62,770 with the help of 2,416 backers. With that money, founder Zach Crain was able to do two life changing things:
1.Start production on a handful of Freaker designs in the grand ol’ state of North Carolina!
2.Convert a box truck into a traveling neon-party-house, complete with a deck-stage and a guaranteed smile. Not willing to settle for standard marketing techniques, Zach and 2 co-founders travelled the country for four months, from coast to coast, breaking bread with the masses by throwing free grilled cheese parties and making it rain Freakers. You know. Like ya do. With every stop, the Freaker Family got just a little bigger. Every summer since that original adventure, the boxtruck has been making rounds across the country, spreading joy and freaking everyone.
Freaker USA returned to Kickstarter in 2015 to launch a colorful line of 100% American-made socks. Freaker Feet raised $255,264 with the help of 4,948 backers! The Freakerteam also starred in a feature length, critically appraised documentary about the crowdfunding revolution called Capital C! If you’re in the mood for a Netflix & Chill, give it a peek!
Fast forward to present day, and you’ll find that Freaker USA is a thriving little company filled with joyous little bunny workers headquartered in an old One Tree Hill set in Wilmington, North Carolina.
And the American Dream lived happily ever after.
